Today, U.S. Representative Brenda L. This is a part of the Department of Housing and Urban Development's $3 billion announcement to help communities recover from disasters and build inclusive resilience to climate change.

"I'm excited to announce that the City of Detroit is receiving more than $57 million in funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development's Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) program," said Rep. Lawrence. "As Vice Chair of the House Appropriations Committee, I was proud to have helped secure these funds for Detroit and to have hosted Secretary Marcia Fudge here this past October. This funding is going to help residents in the 14th District recover from the June flooding and invest in climate change resiliency in our most vulnerable communities."
