On NBC, CNN, MSNBC, Klobuchar Highlights Need to Protect Women's Right to Make Their Own Health Care Decisions, Following Supreme Court Overturning Roe v. Wade

On NBC, CNN, and MSNBC, U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, highlighted the need to protect women's right to make their own health care decisions, following the Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe v. Wade.

"Basically, the Supreme Court, with the support of Republican senators who put these justices on there, has clearly said that they believe a woman shouldn't have this right to make her own decisions. They believe, I guess, it should be the government and politicians. As you are seeing today by the outpouring of opposition to this decision as we know from the public opinion polls, 80 percent of the public are with us here, they don't want to take away that right," Klobuchar emphasized on MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell Reports.

"This is fundamentally about a law that has protected women for 50 years," Klobuchar told Lester Holt on NBC, "These justices on the Supreme Court are so out of touch with Americans…that they have literally turned back the clock on 50 years of well-settled precedent."

"We cannot have the women of the country -- young women like my daughter grow up and have less rights than their moms and their grandmas. That just can't be the America we live in," Klobuchar said on CNN Newsroom with Fredricka Whitfield.
