Senator Rosen, Governor Sisolak Hold Roundtable to Discuss Clean Energy in Nevada

Location: Las Vegas, Nevada

Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) joined Governor Steve Sisolak for a roundtable with solar energy leaders and members of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) to discuss the current state of clean energy manufacturing in Nevada.

Last month, Senator Rosen and Governor Sisolak's efforts to support the solar industry and save jobs in Nevada succeeded when -- at their urging -- the Biden Administration announced a two-year solar tariff suspension window while also invoking the Defense Production Act to boost U.S. solar manufacturing.

"As the top solar economy in the country with the most solar jobs per capita, Nevada is leading the way on clean energy, and that's why I've been fighting so hard against the threat of job-killing solar tariffs," said Senator Rosen. "Thanks to Governor Sisolak bringing us together with key solar industry stakeholders, we were able to have a robust discussion about how we can work together at the state and federal level to bolster domestic solar manufacturing and keep Nevada as the number one state for solar energy."

"In Nevada, we are experiencing the harsh impacts of climate change. Now is the time to develop clean energy to combat it, create a more stable Western grid while providing good-paying jobs," said Governor Sisolak. "These discussions are critical -- we need to work together to tackle this issue impacting all Nevadans."
