Pennsylvania GOP gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano announced May 10 he is embarking on a Freedom Tour across Pennsylvania.

According to a release posted on his Facebook page, Mastriano's tour will make 17 stops throughout the state over the course of 6 days, visiting and holding events in Somerset, Greensburg, Carnegie, New Castle, Warren, Tionesta, Big Run, Clearfield, Warminster and other locations.

"Pennsylvanians have been through a lot in recent years. While establishment politicians and bureaucrats love dictating policies that affect hard-working Pennsylvanians from afar, I believe in interacting with voters and hearing their stories," Mastriano said in the release. Taking a bus tour across Pennsylvania will be one of the highlights of this campaign. I can't wait to meet so many of my future constituents and share with them my vision for a brighter future in the Keystone State. Together, we can make a difference for Pennsylvania!"

Mastriano is a retired U.S. Army colonel who currently serves as the state senator for Pennsylvania's 33rd District, according to his biography. He holds master's degrees in strategy, strategic intelligence, military operations and airpower and also holds a Ph.D in history. Mastriano has been featured on multiple national radio programs, as well as Tucker Carlson, C-Span and Fox Business with Stuart Varney.

Mastriano will face off against multiple GOP challengers in the Republican gubernatorial primary May 17, including Lou Barletta, Bill McSwain and Dave White, according to Ballotpedia. Incumbent Governor Democrat Tom Wolf is term-limited, so he will not be seeking reelection.
