Location: Washington, DC

During today's Ways and Means Committee hearing "Nowhere to Live: Profits, Disinvestment, and The American Housing Crisis," Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) highlighted the housing tax credits passed in the Committee that have helped Connecticut's First District.

"In my district in Connecticut, we successfully used the historic tax credit this Committee specifically worked on and have been able to provide for Clover Gardens, housing that addresses family concerns, including people with disabilities, in a historic area," said Larson. "What they've done is simply remarkable, and because of that, now families have a roof over their head and the opportunity to pursue the American Dream. I guess a lot of us believe that government does have a role in helping people out."

Rep. Larson joined local leaders to celebrate the opening of Clover Gardens affordable housing units in Hartford last month.
