Statement

"The indictment of a Russian national, working on behalf of the Russian government and Russian intelligence agencies, for engaging in a multi-year foreign malign influence effort demonstrates the continued threat posed by Russia, and the need to remain vigilant. As the indictment makes clear, Russia's efforts to sow social discord, spread propaganda, and interfere in our elections are not a relic of 2016 or 2020, but continue to this day. As we near the midterm elections, it's critical that the Department of Justice and the Intelligence Community closely monitor any efforts by Russia, or any other foreign actor, to meddle in our political system. Americans must decide American elections."
