DelBene Statement on Biden Administration Lifting Trump's Canadian Solar Tariffs

Today, Congresswoman Suzan DelBene (WA-01) released the following statement after the Biden administration announced that the U.S. will remove Trump-era tariffs on solar products from Canada.

"I applaud the Biden administration's decision to remove tariffs on Canadian solar products. I called on the administration to take this action last year as a way to boost good-paying solar manufacturing jobs in Washington state and across the country," said DelBene. "This decision will increase trade between the United States and Canada, strengthen our supply chains, and expand access to affordable clean energy for U.S. households. Moving forward, increasing trade in environmental goods like solar must remain a top priority as we work with countries around the world to combat climate change."

Last year, DelBene led a letter to U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai, requesting the administration exempt Canadian solar products from Trump-era tariffs.
