Congressman Max Miller (OH-07) today introduced H. Res. 76, a resolution to remove Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (MN-05) from the House Foreign Affairs Committee. With her often repeated anti-Semitic and anti-Israel rhetoric, Congresswoman Omar has demonstrated that she does not have the objective mindset appropriate for representing the United States on this essential committee.

Since becoming a Member of Congress in 2019, Congresswoman Omar has spread anti-Semitic tropes and peddled anti-Israel rhetoric, making her unfit to be objective in guiding American foreign policy on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

"Foreign Affairs Committee Members are regarded as credible emissaries of American foreign policy," said Congressman Miller. "Their words have significant weight in guiding our relations with other countries and are relied upon by world leaders, most importantly our allies such as Israel. Congresswoman Omar has attempted to undermine the relationship between the United States and Israel, one of the most important strategic alliances we have. She has disqualified herself from serving on the Foreign Affairs Committee."

"This is not about politics or engaging in a tit-for-tat with the Democrats," continued Congressman Miller. "Members of Congress from across the ideological spectrum have condemned Congresswoman Omar's comments, and even the Democrat former Chairman of the Committee said that her comments had no place on the Committee. Congresswoman Omar clearly cannot be an objective decision-maker on the Foreign Affairs Committee given her biases against Israel and against the Jewish people."
