ICYMI: CAPITO, ROSEN INTRODUCE BIPARTISAN BILL TO CREATE CENTRALIZED ONLINE RESOURCE FOR NEW SMALL BUSINESSES

U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.) last week reintroduced the One Stop For Small Business Licensing Act. This bipartisan legislation would require the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to create a centralized website that includes federal, state, and local licensing and business permit information necessary to establish a small business. This would help cut through bureaucratic red tape, making it easier for individuals to start a small business and support their local economies.

"West Virginia small businesses are an essential part of our economy. In fact, they make up more than 98 percent of businesses in West Virginia and employ nearly half of our workforce. I'm proud to reintroduce the One Stop Shop for Small Business Licensing Act, and help America's small business owners by requiring an easily accessible web feature to help them navigate complex state and federal operating requirements," Senator Capito said.

Senator Capito continues to work to help small businesses thrive. During the height of the pandemic, Senator Capito worked to help ease the burden on America's small businesses, including cosponsoring the Paycheck Protection Small Business Forgiveness Act, which streamlined compliance requirements for recipients of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) while reducing regulatory burdens. Additionally, in March of last year, Senator Capito worked to introduce the Empowering Women in Small Business Act to expand access to capital and increase federal contract opportunities for women-owned small businesses. Senators Capito and Rosen originally introduced the One Stop For Small Business Licensing Act in October of last year.
