Thank you, For Both The Lives You've Given

Thank you, For Both The Lives You've Given

This memorial weekend, as some use the time for family and friends, I also hope we use it as a memorial for those who have given their lives for the freedom we live in everyday. The men and women, our national hero's, who have served in our armed forces, have given so much to keep us free. For them we always say thank you.

For those who have died to keep us free, we will never be able to say thank you enough. Those who died to keep us free lost two lives, the one they lived, and the one they hoped to live. To the families who have lost loved ones, your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

So we say to the veteran who is or has served in Iraq, Afghanistan, the first Gulf War, say thank you, you are men and women of valor and are doing good work.

To the Vietnam veteran, we say Welcome Home. Thank you for going, when others would not.

To the Korean veteran, we don't forget your war, and we will always remember your service.

To the World War II veteran, thank you for showing us what a great generation can do, and we always strive to live up to the standards of honor you established.

To the World War I veteran, your war is almost a century past. Many who have come home from that war have gone home to be with our Lord. Until your brothers and sisters meet you there, it is your turn to keep the home fires burning. Thank you.

To those veterans and families who will never see this email because their time was so long ago; to us they are a part of history, but to them, it was their reality. May we always be thankful, and never forgetful for the sacrifices made to establish this free nation.

"Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends."

John 15:13 (NAS)
