Down in the Big Easy

Kitch and I arrived in the Big Easy last night after a stop over in Bay St. Louis to visit with sheriffs from across Mississippi.

Kitch spoke to Mississippi sheriffs at their annual convention. We then ate lunch with them, which was a treat. Copiah County Sheriff Harold Jones was nice enough to introduce Kitch around. Not surprisingly, Kitch already knew a good number of the sheriffs, either from his past work as a D.A. or from visiting the district as he campaigns.

Here in New Orleans, Kitch is at the annual convention of the Mississippi Association for Justice. He'll speak tonight at 6:30 p.m. Also scheduled to speak is his chief rival, Justice Jim Smith. This will be the first time the two share a speaking engagement.

Certainly, I hope the two have many, many opportunities to speak opposite one another and even to debate. A statesman-like exchange of ideas is most suitable for a race of this magnitude.
