Lee: Reforms Needed To Ensure Every American Has Access to Quality, Affordable Health Insurance

Congressman Chris Lee (NY-26) addressed leaders in the Western New York health care community this afternoon on the critical need for common sense reforms to ensure every American has access to quality, affordable health insurance.

The lawmaker was the keynote speaker at a meeting of the Western New York Healthcare Association (WNYHA.) Founded in 1931, WNYHA is the regional advocate for hospitals and other health care organizations in the eight counties of Western New York.

"Too many Americans either don't have health insurance or are being priced out of what coverage they do have," Congressman Lee said. "It's clear that we need common sense reforms to ensure every American has access to quality, affordable health insurance."

The lawmaker discussed his support for initiatives that expand coverage and lower costs while protecting the doctor-patient relationship. These solutions include providing incentives for small businesses to cover their employees, accelerating investments in health IT, and enacting meaningful medical liability reform.

Congressman Lee added: "This is an issue that affects everyone, from working families to small businesses, and it's important we get it right. That's why I look forward to meeting with constituents, policymakers, and industry stakeholders in the coming weeks and talking about how we can work together to improve our nation's health care system."
