Press Release

Date: Oct. 8, 2009
Location: Washington, DC

According to the Plain Dealer's article "Issue 5 supporters want Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Bill Mason to return employee contributions," October 7, 2009, "[County Prosecutor Bill] Mason issued a statement that asked whether Issue 5 supporters U.S. Rep. Marcia Fudge...would be willing to return employee donations."

In response, Representative Marcia L. Fudge (OH-11) issued the following statement:

"During my tenure as Mayor, I never solicited or knowingly accepted contributions from my employees. I am more than willing to return any employee contribution, as it would have been accepted in error. Moreover as a Member of Congress, federal law bans my employees from donating to my campaign and I wholeheartedly support that rule."
