In a joint news conference today at the Lowndes County Courthouse, former Congressional candidate Henry Ross endorsed Republican candidate Alan Nunnelee in his challenge of Congressman Travis Childers saying, "I'm proud to have been a part of a spirited primary to choose our representative to face the Democrats this November. Alan offers the best chance of restoring a conservative representative to Congress for our district. I extend him my full support to help ensure the defeat of Travis Childers and consequently Nancy Pelosi."

Nunnelee Statement

"Thank you Henry. You have served your country both in the military and as a civilian. You have served honorably at every level of government… local, state, and national.

I appreciate your endorsement, and your pledge to work to defeat the liberal agenda of Nancy Pelosi and the liberal wing of the United States Congress.

You are correct when you say that the greatness of our nation has been built on the pillars of faith, family, and freedom and that those pillars are crumbling. It is vital that we work together to strengthen each of these pillars.

Together we can write history.

How will our grandchildren and their grandchildren know of the greatness of America?

Will posterity enjoy the blessings of liberty secured for us by our grandparents and their grandparents?

Will they live in a land of opportunity, where any boy or girl can be anything they want to be …

Or will the greatness of America be only a chapter in their history books? A record of what once was.

The answer to that question is in our hands.

Over the past seventeen months, numerous times, we have shaken our heads in disbelief at the policies of our Congress. Policies that drive us deeper into debt. Policies that reduce our paychecks. Policies that give government more control over our lives.

The question we must answer for history is, "Will we continue to shake our heads as we passively observe the dismantling of our liberties, or will the misguided policies of Washington motivate us into action.

Working together, we can shape our own destiny.

We will make our government the servant of We the People.

We will have a government that lives within its means, and stops senseless borrowing from future generations.

We will see a thriving economy based on private investment coupled with the strength and ingenuity of the American worker, rather than an artificial stimulus based on borrowed government money.

We will have a society that respects the sanctity of human life and whose laws reflect that respect.

We will repeal Obamacare, and replace it with patient centered health care reform because we know what is best for our lives.

We will respect the second amendment, because we know that all of the amendments of the Bill of Rights are tied together, and that you cannot weaken one without weakening them all.

We will have a secure nation that begins with strengthening our boarders and treats terrorist as enemies rather than giving them the rights of the very constitution they wish to destroy.

And the first day on the job, we will Fire Nancy Pelosi.

Can you honestly look at the record of this Congress and say "well done"?

Can we look at the state of our economy and say, "Keep up the good work"?

Were you proud the day Nancy Pelosi carried the super sized mallet through the crowd on the way to the Capitol to pass Obamacare?

Is the United States stronger and more respected now, than when this leadership team took over?

Is the world Safer?

Do you believe that we deserve better?

Our task will not be easy. We have already seen evidence of attacks from the most radical of the left wing. They won't give up without a fight because Pelosi and her liberal cronies know that if they lose North Mississippi, they lose their jobs.

So today, I ask you to join me. This is not a campaign of one man for an office. This is a crusade to save America.

No more excessive spending…

No more borrowing from our children and grandchildren…

No more corporate bailouts

No more Cap and Trade

No more government intrusion

No more closed door/backroom deals

No more Obamacare

No more ignoring Illegal Immigrants

No more attacks on the traditional family

And NO MORE NANCY PELOSI!!!

Will history record that those who had the most to lose did the least to save our liberty, or

Will we, like the Greatest Generation, answer Freedom's call.

I believe we will, because I believe America is worth saving.
