Let's Return to a Path of Prosperity

Statement

More and more Congressional Democrats--31 to be exact-- are jumping off the Obama/Pelosi "let's raise taxes" bandwagon to join Republicans in the push to extend the Bush-era tax cuts. As you likely know, small businesses and families around the country will experience a marked increase in their tax rates if the President gets his way. This week marks the 35thmonth that the unemployment rate in the state of Georgia has exceeded the national unemployment rate. We live in a time when so many Americans are pinching their pennies harder than they ever have in their lives. We live in a time when so many Americans are still asking "where are the jobs?" and American businesses are replying, "we want to create them, but we cannot afford to…" Yet, our Democrat leadership seems to insist on exacerbating the problem instead of joining Congressional Republicans in bringing a solution.

Americans of all political stripes are weary of the road on which America's political leadership is traveling. A different path is available: the path of prosperity. It is the path America deserves and it does not involve taxing Americans into oblivion. It does not involve record setting deficits every month. We need to restore fiscally responsible principles to our legislature, and I'm convinced, with the growing support of American voters across this nation, we will embark on that new path starting with the election on November 2. Like you, I am ready for a fresh start and to hit the ground running on Day One working for you. Together, we will get government out of the way and unleash the power of America's small businesses and entrepreneurs. Together, we can ensure that America's best days are ahead.

I invite you to share this excitement with me by joining me tomorrow (Saturday, September 18) at any or all of several events. In the morning, you are invited to the Georgia GOP Rally at Wild Bill's in Duluth from 11:30AM until 1PM. I will be there with you along with Senator Johnny Isakson, Gubernatorial Nominee Nathan Deal and more.

As tomorrow promises to be a beautiful day, you and your family may be planning to visit the Suwanee Day Festival. I'll be there too, from 2PM until 4PM at the Gwinnett County Republicans' booth, and I am looking forward to it. Finally, I'm finishing the day at the Gwinnett County Fair from 5PM until 8PM. Please click here for locations and details.

I hope to see many of you this weekend. I encourage you to share this message with your friends and to bring them to one of these great community events tomorrow. Thank you for your help and all that you do. Working together, we will get this country back on track. Have a great weekend!

Rob

P.S. Early voting begins today for Gwinnett and Forsyth Counties and Monday for the remaining counties in the Seventh District.
