Issues: Guns

When our Founding Fathers drafted the Bill of Rights, they included the Second Amendment, which states, "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." They wisely knew that if the people were armed, there would always be a built-in protection against criminal activity and tyranny.

I am a gun owner and avid hunter, and have consistently fought to protect the right to keep and bear arms. One of my top priorities is to stop liberal activists from infringing your rights and taking our guns.

Too often, guns are blamed for violent acts rather than blaming the perpetrators of these acts. Rather, we should look inward to determine what lies behind these acts of violence. Inanimate objects cannot be the cause of anything without the human hand holding them making a decision. The solution to curbing violence lies in our homes, schools, and places of worship -- not by limiting the Second Amendment rights of law abiding citizens.
