Change is Never Easy, But Sure is Expensive

Forced changes and increased costs are being pushed on Medicare Part D participants.

During the debate on his controversial healthcare bill, President Obama assured senior citizens that if they liked their healthcare plan, they could keep it. However, the Washington based healthcare group, Avalere, released a report which shows that all 17 million seniors who currently participate in Medicare Part D will see a 10% increase in their premiums -- 3 million of them will be forced to change their plan all together. Rich Nugent (R-FL-05) released the following comment on the group's findings:

"Facts are stubborn things. This study reaffirms a fact that the American people have known all along: when you make drastic cuts to Medicare, something's got to give. In this case, it's the health and financial stability of our seniors," stated Rich Nugent. "Most senior citizens live on fixed incomes and increases in their expenses really put them in a bind. I am disappointed that my opponent supports ObamaCare despite the potential harm it could have on the more than 250,000 seniors who call the district home. In congress, I will work to repeal this healthcare bill and replace it with healthcare reforms that will help, not hurt our seniors."
