President Obama Admits Stimulus Failure

Does Congressman Kagen agree that the stimulus failed to create jobs? --

In a recent interview with the New York Times, President Obama stated that there is no such thing as "shovel-ready projects". The President also stated that he should have "let the Republicans insist on the tax cuts in the stimulus".

"Even the President gets it. You cannot spend more money to get out of debt. Congressman Kagen and his Democratic allies in Washington continue to drive our economy into the ground. The stimulus, by all economic measures, has failed to create jobs and stimulate the economy," stated Reid Ribble, candidate for Wisconsin's 8th Congressional district.

Politico recently reported that the stimulus gave $2.3 billion in manufacturing tax credits to companies overseas. The Department of Energy estimated that 82,000 jobs were created from those tax credits in countries like China, instead of the United States.

"Congressman Kagen's economic agenda has only made our economy worse. His votes in favor of cap-and-trade, the health care takeover and leaving Washington rather than prevent massive tax increases coming at the end of this year, continues our country down the path of fiscal destruction. We need a congressman who will create real job growth and not spend this country into an economic disaster," Reid Ribble concluded.
