After the President's State of the Union address, Representative Xavier Becerra (CA-31), Vice Chair of the House Democratic Caucus and Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Social Security, released the following statement:
"The President is right--America is getting back on track after the worst economic disaster since the Great Depression. We have turned the corner. Now the question is, will we swing for the fences and lay the foundation for a brighter future where America leads?
I look forward to seeing a proposal from the new Republican majority to meet the President's goal of boosting scientific research, making college more affordable and creating the jobs of the 21st Century."
