Emerson: Administration's Budget Proposal Tone Deaf to the Need to Cut Spending

U.S. Rep. Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) today commented on the FY 2012 budget released by the Obama Administration.

"The budget released today strikes the wrong chord for the American people," Emerson said. "The Administration's hoped-for 10 year savings stands in stark contrast to the House Republican proposal being debated this week, which would cut Federal spending by $100 billion in the current fiscal year," Emerson noted. "Meanwhile this budget would continue funding for job destroying regulations, such as EPA's Greenhouse Gas regulations and implementation of new healthcare regulations."

Emerson concluded, "The American economy deserves the certainty and confidence provided by a Federal government willing to follow the lead of the American people and tighten their belts. This budget would continue the stimulus spending efforts which have failed at delivering jobs for Missouri."
