Our nation has a history of welcoming immigrants; a history that what makes us strong and vibrant. The millions of undocumented workers who live in our country, work hard and contribute to our communities deserve a chance to come out of the shadows. Janice believes the federal government must take the lead on immigration reform. Radical laws like those in Arizona and Alabama are not constructive.

Janice believes there is a critical need for serious, comprehensive immigration reform at the federal level. She has always supported commonsense solutions like the DREAM Act, which would create a pathway to citizenship for individuals that meet certain requirements, like going to college or joining the military.

In Congress, she has worked with leaders to reform our broken immigration system and focus on practical proposals, not on ideological ones.

Janice has been endorsed by Latino leaders throughout our area, including: California Assembly Speaker John A. Pérez, former California State Assemblymember Hector De La Torre, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, California Latino Legislative Caucus Chair Ricardo Lara, and Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca, as well as Latino city council and school board members throughout the district.

Our nation has a history of welcoming immigrants, and it is what makes us strong and vibrant. Janice believes that our broken immigration system needs to be fixed and that our borders must be secured. In Congress, she'll push for a solution to immigration reform, including for those that were brought here through no fault of their own. Janice believes that our nation's border security is an important issue both for our country and our neighbors down south. She's committed to enacting common-sense immigration legislation as a representative of the 36th District.
