Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Abortion

Today, U.S. Representative Stephen Fincher (R-Frog Jump) voted in favor of House Resolution 3, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act. This legislation is a government-wide prohibition of taxpayer dollars being spent toward abortion-related costs, which codifies the Hyde Amendment. It also provides conscience protections for our nation's pro-life health care providers.

"I am proud to support legislation that prohibits any taxpayer money from funding abortions," Rep. Fincher said. "Life is precious, and we must encourage and support healthy pregnancies and babies. This is a step in the right direction to protect the unborn as we continue to look for other ways to stop the multitudes of unnecessary abortions that occur every year in our country."

"With today's advancements in technology, you can actually see a baby move and grow inside the mother," Fincher continued. "It's truly amazing to watch these little lives develop before they are ever delivered. Children are our future and supporting their chance at life is an investment in our nation."
