The campaign of Mississippi Treasurer Tate Reeves, Republican candidate for Lieutenant Governor, released the following statement today regarding a new independent poll showing him leading the race for Lt. Governor by a wide 51-18 margin statewide:

"The only poll that matters is the one on Election Day; however, we are pleased that the latest independent poll shows us with a wide lead in the Republican Primary," said Justin Brasell, campaign spokesman. "People are responding to our campaign's positive message of creating jobs, lowering our debt, and keeping our state the best place to raise a family."

The poll, first reported by Geoff Pender of the Sun Herald, was conducted by well-regarded Republican pollster Tony Fabrizio. The poll is within the margin of error of internal polling conducted for the Reeves campaign by a different polling firm just a few weeks ago.
