Pearce: Unemployment Remains Too High, Jobs Remain Top Focus

Today Congressman Steve Pearce issued the following statement in response to the November unemployment report:

"Unemployment is still too high, and across America, families are suffering as a result," said Pearce. "Jobs remain my top priority. Many in the House of Representatives have dedicated our efforts to putting Americans back to work and back on their feet. We have passed jobs bills, legislation to ease the regulatory burden on businesses, and legislation to encourage business growth in America."

"Many of these pieces of legislation have been untouched in the Senate," Pearce continued. "It is nothing more than a blatant display of party politics. Yet, unemployment is not a Democrat or Republican issue. It is an American issue, so I challenge the Senate to join the House in the fight against unemployment. It is time to work together to restore America to the land where success is rewarded, opportunities are endless, and anything is possible."

The November report shows that national unemployment is at 8.6 percent.
