The House of Representatives, in a bipartisan manner, today passed H.R. 459 -- the Federal Reserve Transparency Act. Congressman Jeff Landry (R, LA-03), who cosponsored and voted for the legislation, issued the following statement after its passage:
"Today, my colleagues and I dealt a huge blow to the secretive, unaccountable overlords of the Federal Reserve. With today's passage, we are one step closer to finally opening the doors of the Fed to the watchful eyes of the Congress and the American people. As someone who come to Congress to end backroom deal and Washington gimmicks, I was proud to support the full and complete audit of the Fed, and I hope the Senate will follow our lead so transparency and openness can prevail."
