Congressman Landry to Meet with President Obama

Statement

Date: Sept. 3, 2012
Location: New Iberia, LA
Issues: Oil and Gas

Today, Congressman Jeff Landry (R, LA-03) will meet with President Barack Obama to assess Hurricane Isaac's damages, discuss the government's recovery efforts, and highlight the need for more domestic energy production.

"I appreciate the President's willingness to come to Louisiana to see Hurricane Isaac's destruction firsthand. Hurricane recovery and high gas prices are not Republican issues or Democrat issues, they are American issues," said Landry. "I am hopeful the federal government will join together to assist the thousands of Louisiana residents impacted by this storm. And it is important Washington understand the need to increase domestic energy production in other areas to offset supply disruptions along the Gulf Coast."
