Creating Jobs

Statement

August was the 43rd consecutive month with unemployment above 8 percent. Americans continue to suffer from the failed policies of President Obama and this Administration. We now have the longest period of sustained high unemployment since the Great Depression. This is unacceptable and is the number one issue that I hear about in the district.

It's clear that this country is headed in the wrong direction. It's hard to say the economy is getting better when more than 23 million Americans are out of work or forced to work part time. In the meantime, more than 30 House-passed jobs bills are sitting in the Senate. Despite those roadblocks, we are continuing to push forward in the House and fight to create jobs. We need to do more until we can get our economy growing again.
