Issue Position

The education of our Texas children and their future should not be based upon our personal ideologies, divisive beliefs or political agendas but rather scholarship based research and expertise. The SBOE needs to focus on maintaining the integrity of our educational system, by making sound decisions regarding curriculum standards and instructional materials based on the expertise of our teachers, local school boards, and academic scholars.



Our workforce continues to globalize and higher education is becoming more competitive requiring that Texas children be as prepared as possible in order to have a brighter future. This is necessary for all our communities as they will be our future CEO's, presidents, doctors and educators.



My objective is very clear: prepare our children for higher education and a competitive, globalizing workforce.
