Rep. Becerra on President Obama's Remarks Urging Congress to Extend Middle Class Tax Cuts

Date: Dec. 9, 2012
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Taxes

Today, after President Barack Obama made remarks urging Congress to extend tax cuts for middle class Americans, Congressman Xavier Becerra (CA-31), Vice Chair of the House Democratic Caucus, released the following statement:

"What are we waiting for? The American people want us to act. There's no reason to delay. Our economy cannot afford another two years of ideological obstructionism and congressional gridlock. If House Republicans want to end the uncertainty over the Bush-era tax cuts, they should immediately take up President Obama's proposal to cut taxes for middle class Americans while asking millionaires and billionaires to pay their fair share and help reduce the deficit."
