Issue Position

Karen knows that the organized labor movement is the single greatest anti-poverty program in America's history. As a former labor lawyer and arbitrator and mediator, Karen understands how policy and legislation impact working families and she always fights to protect the rights of workers to organize and for increased workplace safety.

Karen knows that Massachusetts was a leader in passing the first minimum wage in 1912, and believes a fair, living wage is necessary to lift our working families and boost our communities and our economy.

Karen will oppose trade agreements that hurt our American workers - and fight to include needed protections for our workers and jobs. Karen was involved in the drafting of the Project Labor Agreement for the Deer Island Treatment Plant in Boston Harbor and encourages the use of PLA's that improve wages and working conditions, increase efficiencies, and reduce costs.
