Issue Position

I support education and healthcare to help women avoid unplanned pregnancies. As a pro-life Republican, I support the Hyde Amendment which prohibits federal subsidies for abortion. I support a uniform, federal informed consent law that would require health care providers to provide factual information in a neutral setting about the medical procedure as well as alternatives, such as adoption.

I am committed to protecting the rights of the unborn. As your member of Congress I am a cosponsor of H.R. 1797, the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. This law prevents physicians from performing an abortion of an unborn baby who is 20 weeks old. I am also a cosponsor of H.R. 732, the Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act, which prohibits transporting minors across State lines to circumvent state parental consent abortion laws.
