Statement

Date: March 4, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

Today Congresswoman Katherine Clark issued the following statement on President Obama's budget proposal:

"Today, President Obama submitted his fiscal year 2015 budget expanding on our shared vision of opportunity for all. It makes critical invests in infrastructure, job training and early education while closing tax loopholes for wealthy corporations that ship jobs overseas. It gives our national economy a healthy shot in the arm by expanding the Earned Income Tax Credit and the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit. We agree that the key to economic success is the investment we put into our children, our families, and our work force. The president's proposed budget -- combined with an increase in minimum wage and a renewal of long-term unemployment insurance -- will help us continue our path to renewed economic certainty. I'm committed to working with the president and my colleagues to pass a common sense budget to achieve our shared goal of an economy that works for everyone."
