1,000+ Turn Out for AARP Job Fair

More than 1,000 people participated in today's job fair at The Lou Walker Senior Center in Lithonia, co-hosted by the AARP Foundation and Congressman Hank Johnson's office.

Attendees had access to more than 30 large and small businesses as well as government agencies with job openings, including Lowe's, Comcast, the Roswell Police Department, Goodwill, the Georgia Department of Labor and DeKalb Workforce Development.

"Today's turnout shows people are hungry for work," said Johnson. "My office was pleased to work with the AARP Foundation to put on today's event and hopefully we'll be able to do more in the very near future."

"The event today was a great success," said Tamika Condé, AARP Foundation's DeKalb Senior Community Services Employment Program director. "AARP specializes in workforce development, and we were thrilled to help connect so many employers and job seekers."
