Obamacare is Four Years of Failed Promises

Statement

With Sunday, March 23, marking the fourth anniversary of Obamacare becoming law, U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., issued the following statement.

"It has been four years since Obamacare was forced on the American people. That's four years of broken promises. Four years of higher health care costs, higher premiums, and endless delays for the most unpopular, unworkable parts of this law. Just last week we heard that officials in the health industry expect Obamacare to double premiums next year. Four years later are we better off? I think it is pretty clear that Obamacare is not working for America. We can do better.

"More government, more bureaucracy, more red tape isn't bringing health care costs down or expanding access to care. Obamacare was a missed opportunity and we're all paying for the mistakes of those that put a political victory over what was in the best interest of our country. There are better ideas, there are better solutions, and there are better ways forward. I have offered up a number of ideas for real health care reform and I applaud my colleagues in the Senate who have their own health care reform ideas as well.‎ It's time that we focused on solving the problem. We can make this right, but both Republicans and Democrats will have to focus on where there is common ground and build off of that. It's what America expects and it's the right thing to do."
