Statement

Date: April 17, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

Dr. Dan Benishek (MI-01) released the following statement on the "state of emergency" declaration by Governor Snyder in Marquette County, Michigan:

"Michiganders are used to cold winters, but the record temperatures this year have had detrimental effects on the water and sewer systems in Marquette County. Today, Governor Snyder declared a "state of emergency" for Marquette County to aid in the recovery of the area. I commend the county officials and Governor Snyder for all the work they are doing in Marquette and the Upper Peninsula. I will continue to work with state and local officials and stand ready to assist should federal help be needed."
