John is a leading voice in Washington for an "All of the Above" energy policy. He supports coal, oil, natural gas and nuclear as essential components of America's energy infrastructure while we allow the free-market to foster the growth in wind, solar and other renewables.

Motor fuel costs are on the minds of most Americans -- especially those in rural areas like the 15th District where driving is the only means of transportation. That's why John introduced the Open Fuel Standard (OFS) to break the monopoly oil has on our transportation fuel market. Learn more about OFS.

As Chairman of the Environment and the Economy Subcommittee, John is tasked with responsibility for America's energy waste disposal policy. This includes coal combustion residuals (coal ash) as well as high-level nuclear waste. He's been recognized by his colleagues for his work in both areas and for the recycling and long-term storage policies he has helped advance.
