I have made advocating for women and families a focus throughout my life and career. I have always fought to ensure that women have equal opportunities and a voice in the most important issues facing our communities, whether in the workplace, in education, or in the public sector.
As a working mom and former leader in the healthcare industry -- I know first hand the issues women are facing today -- in the workplace and as the CFOs of their families. As the only female candidate in this race, I would be the first woman to represent this District in its history. I support a woman's right to choose and will work to ensure that this remains a decision made by women, not the government. I believe a woman's reproductive health is critically important and support access to family planning and reproductive freedom. In addition, I believe we should expand efforts to use stem cell research to find cures for diseases like diabetes, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.
