Today, Doug Peterson, a Republican candidate for Nebraska Attorney General, made a pledge to the voters of Nebraska.
"As a former county prosecutor and former assistant Attorney General, I understand that being the state's top lawyer is an extremely important job. I'm running for Attorney General because I want to bring experienced leadership to that office so we can fight crime, protect consumers and win tough cases in court," said Peterson.
"This campaign is a job interview with the voters of Nebraska. I will highlight my experience to voters across all parts of the state and they will make the final decision on if they want to hire me as their Attorney General. If I'm hired by citizens of Nebraska, I pledge;
1) That I will not seek any other office while serving as Attorney General.
2) I have not, and will not, seek any endorsement from current state elected official who could request official Attorney General opinions from the office in the future,"
"This pledge shows that I will be a full-time Attorney General who will be focused on the job at hand. If I'm elected, Nebraskans will get a full time advocate who always puts Nebraska's best interest first."
