Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) released the following statement today after MNsure released premium rates for the 2015 open enrollment period, which runs from November 15th, 2014 until February 15th 2015.

"The impact of the Affordable Care Act in Minnesota during the last year has been dramatic. The uninsured rate in our state fell from 8.2 percent to 4.9 percent after the opening of MNsure. Minnesotans with preexisting conditions can get covered now and women won't pay higher premiums simply because they're women. The expansion of MinnesotaCare and Medical Assistance puts basic health care within reach for some working Minnesotans for the first time.

"Our state is stronger when more Minnesotans have access to quality health care. 180,000 Minnesotans gained insurance coverage through MNsure last year. After the release of the new insurance rates today, I know we will see even more Minnesotans logging on to mnsure.org to find affordable insurance coverage before the end of open enrollment in February 2015."
