U.S. Rep. Nick Rahall (D-W.Va.), top Democrat on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, called on the Obama Administration today to implement a temporary travel ban from West African countries impacted by Ebola.

"This Administration needs to be doing absolutely everything possible to address this urgent public health threat. I believe the Administration can enact a temporary travel ban that both protects the American people and ensures needed resources continue to get to West Africa to combat this deadly disease. These goals needn't be mutually exclusive and both deserve our nation's full attention. The American people deserve to know that all safety measures available to their government are being implemented to keep them safe from this disease, and I believe a travel ban that protects Americans is a prudent step," said Rahall.
