Rep. Ellison Statement on Veterans Day

Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) released the following statement today ahead of Veterans Day, which takes place tomorrow, November 11.

"Today we honor the extraordinary sacrifice of our veterans and their families during a time of multiple deployments around the world. We also pause today to remember the soldiers who are no longer with us.

"Our veterans return from active service ready to get to work. The abilities that made them great soldiers abroad make them great employees at home. Leadership, tenacity and reliability are exactly the skills employers across Minnesota need right now. I encourage all Minnesota businesses to interview and hire as many veterans as possible.

"Americans who choose to serve in the armed forces earn our respect the moment they put on a uniform. When a young woman decides to join the armed forces, her family should be confident our nation will take care of her when she returns home. The best way to do that is to put as many returning soldiers back to work as possible."
