Rep. Wagner's Statement on the Passage of the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Bill

Statement

Date: Jan. 14, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

Congresswoman Ann Wagner released the following statement on the passage of H.R. 240 -- Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act.

"The House just acted, passing a Department of Homeland Security appropriations bill that secures our border, blocks President Obama's executive amnesty and protects American workers. We are a nation of laws and this appropriations bill reaffirmed our commitment to upholding that rule of law. Today we voiced our support for immigrants who respect our current system, rather than rewarding those who have circumvented the process and reside in our country illegally. I was proud to support this important legislation that returns constitutional authority to the legislature, rather than an overreaching Executive Branch. The American people have called for an end to President Obama's unconstitutional overreach and we have answered that call."
