One Way or Another, Obamacare Will be Replaced

Press Release

Date: Feb. 3, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Tom Marino, PA-10, Lycoming County voted yes on H.R. 596 - to repeal Obamacare. On January 15, 2015, Rep. Marino and several of his colleagues signed a letter addressed to Speaker John Boehner, Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Majority Whip Steve Scalise urging them to schedule a vote repealing, in full, Obamacare. The letter also requested the vote take place before the House adjourned for its first recess of the 114th Congress.

Congressman Marino said the following of his vote today:

"Obamacare will crumble under its own weight anyway; it is just a matter of time. However the American people cannot wait for an undefinable period of time before they feel the necessary relief and protection from it.

My constituents sent me here to represent their best interests. They ask that my colleagues and I protect them from cost increases, reduced access to healthcare and coverage -- all of which are imposed by their own government.

Before the critics chime in with their ill-informed and superficial retorts that Republicans have no alternatives to Obamacare, they ought to look carefully at this legislation. It directs all relevant committees to propose pro-family, pro-states' rights and pro-doctor plans which are patient-centric instead of government-centric.

This Congress is in full throttle and we will continue to pass meaningful and serious legislation to get America back on track."
