I served 8 years in the Marines. I know the burden so many of our brothers and sisters carry with them when they come home from overseas. The truth is that we don't do enough for them. There simply aren't enough resources to help them get back on their feet. I believe the responsibility of a State Senator and any leader is to honor the service of those who put their lives on the line for our country by working to give them a better shot at success when they get home. These brave Americans gave some of the most important years of their lives in terms of education, career, and family, and they deserve more. I'll carry their message to Richmond, and I will never support a bill that cuts benefits to our men and women who served.
