Congressman Dan Kildee (MI-05) issued the following statement today after the U.S. Supreme Court upheld portions of the Affordable Care Act:
"Millions of Americans can rest assured knowing that they will now be able to keep their health care plans. Today's Supreme Court decision is a victory for thousands of hardworking Michigan families who are already receiving quality, affordable care thanks to the health care law.
"This is the second time that the High Court has affirmed the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act. It's a shame that Attorney General Bill Schuette pushed this partisan attack in the first place to try and take away health care from millions of Americans. As I said when he first filed his flawed case, it was a waste of time and taxpayer dollars. I'm glad that the court, in a 6-3 ruling, rejected his extreme arguments."
