Title: Prohibiting Lobbyist and Contractor Campaign Contributions
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits lobbyists, principals of state contractors, or principals of perspective state contractors from contributing to a candidate for nomination or election to a public state office, a campaign committee of a candidate for state public office, or a state or county level political party committee, beginning November 3, 2010.
-Authorizes lobbyists and principals of state contractors or prospective state contractors to establish a campaign committee for that individual's own campaign and solicit contributions for that campaign from individuals not prohibited from making contributions (Secs. 1-2). -Authorizes lobbyist's employers to make contributions to a candidate or expenditures for the benefit of a candidate (Sec. 1). -Defines "principle of a state contractor or prospective state contractor" as both the state contractor or prospective state contractor itself, and any of the following (Sec. 3):
