Title: Requiring Review of New Drivers' Program

Vote to pass a bill that requires the Attorney General, in consultation with the Chief Administrator of the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission and the Director of the Office of Highway Traffic Safety, to conduct a study of the impact and effectiveness of the new drivers' program (C.39:12-41 et al).

-Requires the study to examine the operation and safety of motor vehicles by holders of special learner's permits, examination permits, and probationary driver's licenses, including, but not limited to, an examination of the following (Sec. 1):

    -Supervision requirements; -Passenger restrictions; -Hour of operation limitations; -Seat belt requirements; -Hand-held or hands-free interactive wireless communication device use restrictions; and -Decal requirements and usage.
-Requires the report be submitted to the Chair of the Senate Committee on Transportation and Chair of the Assembly Committee on Transportation, Public Works, and Independent Authorities within 6 months of the effective date of this Act (Sec. 1).
