Authorizes the admissions officer or representative to verify the legal status through the following means (Sec. 1):
A United States military I.D.;
A driver license from any state of the United States;
Any valid documentation of identity and residence issued by a state in this country;
Proof of citizenship from a country that participates in the visa waiver program recognized by the United States;
Proof of Canadian citizenship; or
Proof of a valid non-immigrant visa that is recognized by the United States government.
Requires the admissions officer or someone not involved in the actual medical care of a patient to contact the local federal immigration office or local law enforcement to report an incident where the legal status of a patient cannot be verified (Sec. 1).
