Vote to pass a bill that establishes a youth minimum wage.
Specifies that the existing minimum wage of $8.50 per hour does not apply to employees under the age of 18 (Sec. 1).
Establishes a minimum wage of $7.50 for employees under the age of 18, which is not subject to the existing annual minimum wage adjustment (Sec. 2).
Prohibits an employer from taking action to displace an employee, including, but not limited to, a reduction in hours, wages, or employment benefits, in order to hire an individual at the rate of $7.50 per hour (Sec. 2).
