Title: Establishes Reporting Standards for Sexual Assault on College Campuses
Vote to pass a bill that establishes regulations related to reporting of sexual assaults on college campuses, which includes but is not limited to administrative penalties and criminal offenses.
Requires any university employee or campus organization officer who witnesses or receives information regarding an incident of sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence or stalking to promptly report the incident to the institution’s Title IX coordinator or deputy if the incident was either committed by or against a student who was enrolled at or an employee of the institution at the time (Sec. 1).
Requires the report to include all information concerning the incident that is relevant to the investigation, including whether an alleged victim has expressed a desire for confidentiality or anonymity (Sec. 1).
Specifies that an employee designated by the institution as an individual with whom students may speak confidentially about sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, or stalking is only required to report the type of incident and may not include any information that would violate a student’s expectation of privacy (Sec. 1).
Requires termination of the institution’s Title IX coordinator or chief executive officer if either fails to make a report (Sec. 1).
